We performed a limited micro-division stem propagation to ensure the peloric and French spots stay true. We have flowered a few and confirmed that they are true to type to the original mother plant.
I created the pod parent, Phal. Raymond Burr (Salu Peoker × Ho's French Fantasia)—an orange/art shade that is the result of crossing a waxy novelty Phal with one of the best French spots. There is a story behind the pollen parent, Phal. Rousserole. In the late 1990s, I took Jamie with me to Europe for her college graduation gift. One of the countries we visited was France. While we were there, I went to see Mr. Marcel Lecoufle of Vacherot et Lecoufle, as they are the pioneer in creating French spot Phals by hybridizing with Phal. stuartiana back in the late 1980s. We were very fortune to purchase select seedlings of Phal. Rousserole (registered in 1984) which has become one the breeding stock in our collection.
