Brassocattleya (abbreviated Bc.) Gulfshore's Beauty is a primary hybrid with Brassavola nodosa and Cattleya dormaniana, registered by Gulfshore Orchids in 1998. The clone 'Green Gem' was awarded the Bronze Medal (BM) by the Japan Orchid Growers Association (JOGA). This strain comes from Japan. The nearly 3-inch flowers are green with a contrasting red lip and have a firm substance. Plants are compact (under 8 inches in height) and free blooming.
Being 50% Brassavola nodosa makes this plant very easy to grow and flower, tolerant of a range of temperatures (favoring warm). Mature plants will produce multiple growths and will quickly become a specimen. Each growth can produce more than one flower spike at a time to create a great show! This is an excellent beginner plant and a welcome addition to any orchid collection. Highly recommended and a “must have” plant for growers who love nodosa hybrids! Award quality.
