Trcdm. albococcineum ( x ) , NF2866
This miniature Oncidium relative is one of the less well-known Trichocentrum species. It is a hot to warm growing epiphyte from Peru, Ecuador, and Brazil found in wet tropical forests. It has small, clustered, ovoid, pseudobulbs carrying a single fleshy leaf that blooms in the summer and fall on a lateral, 2.5 to 3 inch long, single inflorescence with up to 5 successive opening, 2-inch, floral-scented flowers over several months. This species is very variable in flower shape, color, and size.
These plants are a seed-grown strain from the lowlands of Brazil, where it grows warmer. Grow these plants in hot to warm temperatures in moderately bright light. Water well and let dry slightly between watering, but not be left dry for sustained periods. It is best grown mounted to show off the somewhat pendant flowers. Rarely found in the market.

PLEASE NOTE: Since this is a Seedling Population (not a Mericlone which produces exact duplicates), the picture is for illustration purposes only. No two plants will be the same from this cross, and they will flower in a range of possibilities coming from the two parents.
