"Cattleya Love Castle ‘Kurenai’ BM/JOGA is one of the treasures from our Wearable Orchids Collection, another wonderful creation from Dogashima Orchids of Japan, famous for their compact and miniature Cattleya hybrids. Originally registered as Sophrolaeliocattleya (Slc.) Love Castle. it is a cross between Sl. (now Cattleya) Psyche and Lc. (now Cattleya) José Diaz Castro. Sl. Psyche is a primary hybrid between L. cinnabarina and S. coccinea, an important parent in the background of many famous miniature and compact Cattleyas. Lc. José Diaz Castro, a cross between C. labiata and Lc. Sam W. Soysa, is a standard Cattleya with large fragrant velvety flowers, a proven breeder of excellent dark-purple Cattleyas and one of the parents behind the famous C. Susan Holguin.
