Rth. Cosmic Star 'Nebula' (Cattleya Love Bourbon x Rth. Ahuchong Yoyo) MC2523
The eye-catching Rhyncattleanthe (abbreviated Rth.) Cosmic Star 'Nebula' is our newest waxy spotted Cattleya. The flowers are large for its type and the color is unusual, with shades of copper, bronze, yellow, green, and orange with a contrasting magenta lip. Three to four flowers are produced on each inflorescence. The major species in its ancestry are C. loddigesii 26.56%, C. aclandiae 23.43%, Gur. aurantiaca 9.38%, C. forbesii 7.04%, C. crispata 6.46%, and C. guttata 6.25%. The spots come from the pod parent Cattleya Love Bourbon, specifically from C. aclandiae and C. guttata. These lovely plants have compact growth habit and heat tolerance. The long-lasting, waxy flowers have heavy substance and a lovely fragrance. Plants can be grown on a windowsill or under lights.
