Description

Finally back in stock! This unique and highly sought-after red and white variety of the immensely popular species formerly known as Phal. tetraspis ‘C#1’ is now identified as Phal. speciosa var. christiana. This population is a clone of plant that received the Judge’s Commendation award from the American Orchid Society for its distinctive color.

The expression of red on its flower segments can vary according to light and temperature, so that every flower is a new surprise, making for a most dramatic presentation. It is a proven breeder that passes the trait of “jumping” petal color on to its progeny, creating unusual and surprisingly spectacular flowers. When grown under cooler temperatures and brighter light as it flowers, the amount of red expressed in the flower segments is increased dramatically. When grown under warmer the temperature the flowers have more white. It produces multiple spikes and can flower repeatedly on old spikes for several years as well as flowering on new spikes, don't remove spikes unless it is brown and dry. This compact, heat tolerant species is easy to grow and flower. The flowers have a delightful scent. This clone should be part of any modern Phal. breeding program. A “must have” for beginners, species collectors, fragrant orchid lovers, hybridizers, and lovers of unique orchids.

Don’t miss this opportunity for this extraordinary species, at an even better price due to a good mericlone population! Very highly recommended.
