Phal. schilleriana (' Prince Compacta ' x " Prince Giant') , NF2992
This extraordinary new strain of Phal. schilleriana comes from Mr. Yang Yang of Prince Orchids of Taiwan. It is one of the extraordinary new strains to come out of his breeding program that he described during his presentation at the 2023 PhalFanatics Symposium. Mr. Yang now has the best Phal. schilleriana collection in the world.
Phal. schilleriana is a remarkable species from the Philippines, famous for its long, branching inflorescence adorned with dozens of soft pink fragrant flowers and distinctive markings on its leaves.
The pod parent, Phal. schilleriana ‘Prince Compacta’, was selected by Mr. Yang from his Phal. schilleriana breeding program for its compact growth and round leaves. The pollen parent, Phal. schilleriana ‘Prince Giant’, was selected for its large, impressive flowers.
This newly created strain is incredible! This strain achieves his objective in breeding Phal. schilleriana with more compact leaves for growing under light or in tight spaces. Vigorous plants have short round leaves, and produce dozens of large, pink, fragrant, flowers on 10-inch branching inflorescences. It can be grown in a pot or in a hanging basket, under lights or on a windowsill. Easy to grow and a reliable bloomer. Don’t miss this opportunity to get this exciting new strain. Mature plants put on a spectacular display, sure to be a show stopper. Highly recommended for Phal lover, beginner, species collector, and collector of fragrant orchids.
