Description

Amazing First Release! Excitement has been building for this new breeding trend. This new hybrid is a very stunning waxy white multi-floral novelty Phal. with heavy flower substance. It stays neat and compact, keeps growing new flowers on the same spike (sequential bloomer), in bloom for a long time (up to 3 months), and a prolific bloomer (free flowering). The pod parent, Phal. Yungho Princess Gelb, is Yungho Gelbliambo x Princess Kaiulani var. flava. Phal. Princess Kaiulani is an amazing parent, producing many outstanding hybrids. The pollen parent, Phal. Timothy Christopher (a very famous and popular compact multi-floral), is Phal. Cassandra alba x Phal. aphrodite; (Phal. Cassandra = equestris x stuartiana).

Description of the plant when it received an Award of Merit (AM) by the American Orchid Society (AOS): “Fourteen beautifully shaped, pristine white flowers and five buds on five inflorescences; lip side lobes intense butter yellow providing dramatic contrast to otherwise white flower, a stunning juxtaposition; substance and texture not described.” Phal. Tristar Snow Princess 'Tristar' AM/AOS is an excellent plant for beginners. It is easy to grow and flower, very floriferous, and stays compact, and can be grown under lights or on a windowsill. This hybrid is an improvement from the parents and is the new breeding trend for waxy novelty white. Phal equestris in the background dominates the compact size of plant and increased flower count. Phal. stuartiana and Phal. aphrodite contributes to the free flowering, flower shape, and branching spikes. A “must have” for any modern Phal. collection.
