From our in-house breeding program, Phal. Raspberry Sorbet ‘Wendy’ is the perfect marriage of all hybrids and species in its background. The clone ‘Wendy’ was selected for its robust growth, branching multiple spike habit, long-lasting large flowers with deep, rich color. It puts on quite an amazing show!
The ever popular Phal. Queen Beer, is a miniature that produces multiple branching inflorescences bearing dozens of richly textured, 1-inch, electric pink flowers. It imparts its compact growth and branch multispike habit. For the pollen parent, we used Phal. Taisuco Micky 'Burgundy' (Golden Peoker 'Harlequin' x pulcherrima 4N). The harlequin Phal. Golden Peoker (lueddemanniana x gigantea), a grandparent of Phal. Taisuco Micky, imparts extremely long-lasting flowers and heat tolerance to this cross.
Easy to grow and flower. Perfect for beginners. Grows well on a windowsill, under lights or in an orchid cabinet. As with all harlequin phal hybrids, cooler temperatures enhances the color making the spot more vivid. We predict that this hybrid will soon become a classic and set the standard for this type of breeding. We have high expectations for awards on this cross.
