Myrmecocattleya . RIo's Little Treasure 'Hot LIp' (Cattleya violacea x Myrmecophila albopurpurea) , MC2727
Myrmecocattleya Rio's Little Treasure is a primary hybrid between Cattleya violacea and Myrmecophila albopurpurea created and registered by Dr. Ruben P. Sauleda in 2013.
It blooms in spring and summer, producing beautiful long lasting, slightly fragrant, white flowers with a bright purple lip. Plants are very compact in growth habit and tolerates heat and drought, thanks to the
Myrmecophila albopurpurea parent. These plants are excellent for mounting on trees or cork. Can be grown outdoors year round in areas where summers are hot and winters are mild and frost free. Grow these plants in bright filtered light with regular watering and fertilizer, reduced watering as temperature falls during the cold months.
