Dendrochilum. javieriense 'Montclair' MC2415
Dendrochilum. javieriense 'Montclair'
Dendrochilum (abbreviated Ddc.) javierense is found in the Philippines in mossy cloud forests at elevations above 3,940 feet (1,200 meters). This species is easy to grow in cool to warm temperatures (40°F min. to 95°F max.), tolerant of extremes, but favoring cool. Keep evenly moist and do not let it dry out. Fertilize regularly with dilute solution (i.e., weekly weakly). It is fast growing clumping plant, usually doubling in size every year. Plants are 10 inches tall with leathery spear-shaped leaves and narrow cylindrical pseudobulbs. Fragrant, bright, yellow-green crystalline flowers, closely arranged on arching inflorescences appear in fall to winter. Mature specimens put on a spectacular display. Perfect for growing on a bright windowsill or under lights. Can be grown mounted, potted, or in hanging pots.
