‘Outrageous’ is the only word that comes to mind for this amazing peloric form of Den. parishii ! A true orchid aficionado’s “must have”, it bears six eyes on its lip and petals with the petals being a perfect mirror of the lip. This deciduous species is endemic to China, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam and is a warm to intermediate grower. Producing 2-3 fragrant long-lasting flowers per spike on pendulous leafless canes, flowering can occur from February through August. As new growths emerge, provide ample shade and water, gradually increasing the light until these growths harden off and mature. After flowering, allow for a drier winter rest to encourage abundant flowering the following spring. A collector’s dream !
