Den. Peng Seng (cruetum x tobaense) NF1378
Den. Peng Seng is a charming and interesting primary hybrid with Den. cruentum and Den. tobaense.
It has the best of both parents; the long-lasting flowers have a rounder shape than Den. tobaense with similar colors but with a light whitish-green to slightly orange color to the petals. The lip is very similar to Den. tobaense but wider and a bit more orange. It has a sweet scent that gets stronger with warmer temperature. These plants are weather tolerant, capable tolerating of temperature extremes but favoring intermediate to warm temperature. Can be grown outdoors in areas where winters are frost-free and above 50°F. Grow these plants in bright, diffused light. Keep moist in spring and summer while plants are actively growing. Water and fertilize regularly. Reduce watering somewhat during the cooler months; plants do not require a dry rest. Can be grown in a pot or mounted. Its compact growth habit makes it perfect for growing on a bright windowsill or under lights. It will rebloom from old canes as well as newly matured canes. The tiny black hairs on the canes make this plant pest and disease resistant.
