Description  more details

This elegant Phragmipedium (abbreviated Phrag.) will be similar to the famous long-petaled orange colored Phrag. China Dragon, but on a more compact plant. The pollen parent, Phrag. Nicholle Tower, is Phrag. dalessandroi × Phrag. longifolium. Phrag. Nicholle Tower is a really fantastic hybrid with a color similar to Phrag. Eric Young, but with a deeper red/orange color. Phrag. longfolium contributes to its compact size, robust growth, ease of culture, and increased flower count. Phrag. Nicholle Tower can be in flower for up to 6 months on larger plants, and also produce branching stems. Certainly one of the longest successively flowering Phrags. The pollen parent, Phrag. wallisii (now warscewiczianum), a native of Colombia, Peru and Ecuador, is known for its long, green petals, and light-colored pouch. This species is more heat tolerant than other long-petaled Phrags. Phrag. QF Tower is an excellent choice for beginners or someone new to Phrags. It is very compact and manageable, and free blooming. Easily grown on a windowsill or under lights, sitting in a saucer of an inch or two of water. Flower color can vary with temperature; color will be darker if grown cooler. Note: it is normal for Phrags to expel its flower when it is done blooming while the flower is still in good shape.

PLEASE NOTE: Since this is a Seedling Population (not a Mericlone which produces exact duplicates), the picture is for illustration purposes only. No two plants will be the same from this cross, and they will flower in a range of possibilities coming from the two parents.
