This is an amazing miniature coerulea phalaenopsis. Natural blue (coerulea) is a rare color form for phalaenopsis. Majority of the blue Phalaenopsis found in supermarkets and big box stores are dyed. This amazing new hybrid, registered in 2017 by Prince Orchids of Taiwan, is one of the deepest natural blue! To date, this cross has won two quality awards form the American Orchid Society. A look at the genetic composition reveals that both parents are an indigo variety (coerulea) and contribute 75% of the genes! This cross is 50% Phal. bellina var. indigo, 25% Phal. violacea var. indigo, 13% Phal. tetraspis, and 13% Phal. speciosa. With phal. tetraspis, phal. violacea, and phal. bellina var. indigo in the background, it is very free flowering with multiple-spiking habit and amazing fragrance. It will continue to bloom on old spikes for several years while new spikes are growing. Do not cut the spike until it turns yellow. Flowers have a very good substance and lasts a long time. This is an ideal plant for people have limited space. Perfect for growing on a windowsill or under lights. Mature plants can put on a fantastic show.
