Mlca. (Mormolyca) ringens

Endemic to Belize, Mexico and Costa Rica, Mormolyca ringens is a small to medium size grower capable of producing multitudes of dainty ½-1” lightly fragrant flowers ! Its erect 10” inflorescences each produce a single flower held at or slightly above the foliage to create a beautiful presentation of ochre flowers accented with mahogany red stripes. This species is best grown in a wooden basket under warm to intermediate temperatures with moderate shade. Water well during its vegetative growth, less so after they reach maturity. For a very exotic and rarely available species, this charming species is Highly Recommended !
