Description

This won’t last! Tetraploid remake of rare blue award quality cattleya. Coerulea color forms of bifoliate cattleyas are very rare and highly collectable. This hybrid, first released in 2013, is turning out to be spectacular! The first release plants from 2013 are now blooming with strong stems of 9-11 flowers in a beautiful shade of coerulea blue with darker spotting. The first released seedling of C. Gaudii var. coerulea just received an Award of Merit in July 2019 at the Orchids in The Park Show at Balboa Park (awarded plant is pictured). For this remake, the plants have been treated with Oryzalin, a chemical used to convert diploids into tetraploids, resulting in bigger flowers and better substance.  Expecting some exceptional husky plants from this remake! As these plants are seedlings, each plant is unique and different. Limited supply.
