Brassolaelia (abbreviated Bl.) Morning Glory is a primary hybrid between the two Cattleya alliance species: Brassavola nodosa and Laelia purpurata ( now classified as Cattleya purpurata). It was created and registered by Del-Ora in 1958. The clone ‘H&R’ comes from the H&R Nurdery. It has an Award of Merit (AM) from the American Orchid Society (AOS) and is one of the best and also a proven performer.
These compact, medium-sized plants are fast growing. The elegant, long-lasting flowers resemble a very large Brassavola nodosa with intense purple/pink lips and veining. Plants readily produce multiple growths with 12-inch pencil-like leaves. Quickly grows into a specimen plant. Easy to grow and flower. Perfect for beginners. Grow these plants in a pot, hanging basket, or a mount in bright light and intermediate to warm temps. Can be grown on a window sill or under lights.
