Description & Details

Phal. marriottiana, previously known as Hygrochilus parishii var. marriottiana or Vandopsis parishii var. marriottiana, is a warm-growing orchid species native to Southeast Asia.

This compact species features fleshy foliage that resembles Phal. javanica but is notably thicker.
Blooming during winter and spring, its highly fragrant flowers showcase a striking bronze, orange, or red hue, accented by a white center at the column and a vivid purple lip that provides a stunning color contrast.
Renowned for its heat tolerance, Phal. marriottiana thrives in very warm conditions, tolerating temperatures up to the upper 90s (°F). When mature, it can handle light levels similar to those required by Cattleya orchids. This species performs best in humid environments, either mounted or in a hanging basket. It pairs well with other warm-growing Phalaenopsis species, such as Phal. lueddemanniana, Phal. amboinensis, and Phal. cornu-cervi.
