An exclusive release for Norman’s Orchids, this hybrid was remade by the preeminent hybridizer Mr. Yang Yang of Prince Orchids using his prized clone of Phal. gigantea f. alba 'Prince'.
The pollen parent, is one of the best seedlings from the selfing of the original Phal. gigantea f. alba 'Ta-Wei'. Mr. Yang Yang of Prince selected the clone ‘Prince’ which is very compact and was first flowering in a 3" pot only 28 months out of flask. It is very robust and vigorous grower. The ‘Prince’ clone will be a very important breeder and its progeny have all been absolutely amazing.
Phal. LD Gigan Green Giant is a phenomenal novelty hybrid Phal. with large, fragrant, long-lasting, waxy green flowers. Less than 50 seedlings were released for USA. These plants are robust and vigorous growers just like its Phal. gigantea f. alba 'Prince' parent. It has a multiple spike habit. The spikes remain green and can rebloom for several years. Do not cut the spike unless it is brown and dry. Look for some amazing flowers from this cross. Award quality. Highly recommended.
