We are thrilled to introduce Phal. Norman's Blue Bunny, one of our latest Novelty Phalaenopsis hybrids. These plants are a seed population rather than mericlones, and their first blooms are simply stunning! The flowers are flat with an intense deep blue color, and the plants are compact, vigorous, and free-flowering.
The pod parent, Phal. Lioulin Blue Star (Phal. Equalacea × Phal. Jennifer Palermo), has a genetic composition of 50% Phal. violacea, 25% Phal. equestris, and 25% Phal. tetraspis. The clone ‘Norman’ is particularly prized for its rich blue color. The pollen parent is the award-winning Phal. tetraspis 'Blue Hawaii' FCC/AOS, known for its exceptional coerulea color form.
Phal. Norman's Blue Bunny inherits a genetic makeup of 62.5% Phal. tetraspis, 25% Phal. violacea, and 12.5% Phal. equestris.
This hybrid is a prolific bloomer, producing fragrant, long-lasting flowers on tall, branching inflorescences held above the foliage. Each spike can bear four or more flowers and continue blooming for several years while new spikes develop. Do not cut the spike unless it turns dry and yellow.
The compact plants grow vigorously and can bloom even when young. They are versatile and can be grown either mounted or potted. Ensure regular watering and fertilization; mounted plants may need daily watering during hot summer months. High humidity, warm temperatures, and good air circulation are essential, as is bright light from a windowsill, under lights, or an orchid cabinet.
Phal. Norman's Blue Bunny is a must-have for Phalaenopsis species collectors and fans of fragrant orchids.

PLEASE NOTE: Since this is a Seedling Population (not a Mericlone which produces exact duplicates), the picture is for illustration purposes only. No two plants will be the same from this cross, and they will flower in a range of possibilities coming from the two parents.
