Description & Details

A very rewarding and easy growing Dendrobium species from the lower elevations of Vanuatu, Fiji, Bougainville, New Guinea, the Caroline Islands and the islands of the Malay Archipelago. This is a very rare alba subspecies. This species is best grown mounted on a tree fern plaque to accommodate the pendulous growth habit. If grown in a pot, use a well-draining medium. Fertilize and water regularly through the summer with a slight reduction of water and fertilizer through the winter months.

Although the flowers are small, they make up for their diminutive size in sheer abundance. The pom-pom like flowers form clusters along old leafless canes and newly matured canes. This robust grower can bloom at almost any time of the year with spring/summer being the main time. It thrives outdoors in areas where Summers are warm and humid. A perfect companion plant for Cattleya as it has similar cultural requirements.
