Endemic to Vietnam, this miniature Vandaceous species bears very unusual and attractively red foliage, quite unlike other Ascocentrum species ! Preferring a shadier location than other species in this genus, it happily grows and flowers under Phalaenopsis light and will tolerate lower temperatures than other Ascocentrum species. Flowering at any time from spring to fall, its short erect 4-6” inflorescence can bear multitudes of ½” rose-pink flowers, each accented with a dark purple anther cap to punctuate the flower. For a truly different miniature in the Vanda family, this species is Very Highly Recommended !
