Wilsonara (Oncostele) Red Silk 'HOF' is a sensual red Oncidium intergeneric hybrid that flowers easily twice per year. The flowers have the elegance and shimmer of red silk. The Oncostele Aloha Sparks parent contributes warmth tolerance to this hybrid from Onc. fuscatum in its background.
The clone ‘HOF’ has the best compact-spiking feature and small Oncidium pseudobulb.
We grow them outdoors here in Southern California and treat it like a Cymbidium (i.e., cooler and drier in winter). Can be grown outdoors in areas were winters are frost free. Perfect for growing on a bright windowsill or under lights. Prefers intermediate to warm temperature, good humidity and air circulation. Water and fertilize regularly, keep evenly moist during active growth. An excellent plant for beginners for its ease of care. Highly recommended.
