Rth. Chief Sweet Orange 'Kumquet' , MC2249 , MC224, MC249 , MC2
Rth. Chief Sweet Orange 'Caribbean Sunset’ is a spectacular multi-floral, art shade hybrid Cattleya. The plant is only 8 – 10 inches in height when mature. The pod parent, Ctt. Tutankamen 'Ya Yuan' AM/AOS, is an awarded novelty waxy multi-floral Cattleya from Taiwan with Ctt. Chocolate Drop and C. Mae Hawkins as grandparents. The pollen parent, Rlc. Chyong Guu Chaffinch 'Ta-Hsin' AM/AOS, is a very famous and awarded standard yellow Cattleya with a red lip.
The clone ‘Carribean Sunset’ was selected for its eye-catching, spectacular, orange/red, art shade sunset color. It produces up to 4 large, fragrant, long-lasting, diamond-dusted, 4-inch flowers per spike and can bloom twice a year—once in spring and summer. Plants are weather tolerant and can be grown outdoors year round in areas where winters are frost free and above 50°F. Can also be grown on a windowsill or under lights. Highly recommended.
