From the leading hybridizer, Tying Shin Orchids of Taiwan, Phal. Tying Shin Black Bear 'Ruby' has the best traits of both parents—harlequin Phal with a big lip type. This stunning plant is a prolific bloomer and has has extremely heavy flower substance for type and the lip has white edging. The remarkable flowers are long lasting and have a crystalline texture. In cooler weather the white edging at the lip becomes more pronounced and the color becomes a vivid ruby red. It is a sequential bloomer, with a couple flowers opening at a time on either side of the inflorescence. These plants are award quality.
