Phal. Tarina (pulcherrima var chumponensis ' Norwin' AM/AOS x javanica ' Montclair') , NF2865
We are excited to offer our remake of Phal. Tarina using our award-winning Phal. pulcherrima var. champorensis 'FANGtastic' AM/AOS, which is the peloric form of this remarkable species. We were aiming for a miniature peloric Phal that could be grown on a window sill or under lights. Phal. pulcherrima var. champorensis contributes its robust growth habit and long flowering period (6 – 8 months). Phal. javanica 'Montclair' reduces the overall size of the plant and influences the showy flowers with cute pink lip and compact spiking habit. The first few to flower have exceeded our expectations. The peloric flare from Phal. pulcherrima var. champorensis 'FANGtastic' AM/AOS is dominant and shines through. Flower substance has been firm with diamond dusted texture, making it long lasting. Plants are a sequential bloomer and can produce multiple spikes that remain green for several years. Will bloom on older spikes while new spikes are produced each year. Do not cut the spike unless it is brown and dry. Grow these plants intermediate to warm temperatures. Can be grown on a windowsill, underlights, or in an orchid cabinet. Highly recommended. With superior parents, we expect awards from this cross.
