Phal. Linda Lee Earl 'Pink Butterfly' , MC2399
Last year, we released Phal. Linda Lee Earl 'Lovely', a gorgeous, big-lip Harlequin named after our dear friend Linda Lee Earl. 'Pink Butterfly' is another spectacular clone from that same remarkable cross. It has larger flowers dominated by the pod parent Phal. Yu Pin Easter Island, which is 50% Phal. Sogo Yukidian—a standard white Phal.
The show-stopping clone ‘Pink Butterfly’ is our newest headliner chosen for its classic blush petals and lovely contrasting soft pink lip. The size of the lip is more balanced—not overly big like some big-lip Phals. This is an example of the new trend in big-lip type Phal breeding. The long-lasting, diamond-dusted flowers are almost 4 inches wide, borne on an elegant, naturally arching spike. The pink blush is intensified in cooler winter time, and less during the warmer summer.
Flower spikes remain green and continue to bloom for years while new spikes are produced each year. Do not cut the spike unless it is dry and brown. Can be grown on a window sill or under lights. We expect awards for this impressive flower quality. Highly recommended for growers looking for something new and exciting.
