Description

This is a rare album form of the micro-miniature species with bright green and white flowers on very compact plants. Its attractive leaves are blue-gray and tessellated with faint patterns. These plants are from a seed grown population.

Paphiopedilum (abbreviated Paph.) fowliei is endemic to the Philippine Island of Palawan. It grows on

grows on leaf mould or detritus on limestone rocks where it receives copious amounts of rain. It usually grows at an elevation from 1,970 to 3,115 feet, and has a mean temperature range of 73 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit. The plant thrives in bright light, high humidity, and good air circulation. It blooms in the spring and summer on an erect, hairy, 10-inch long, single flowered inflorescence.

Grow this species potted in a rock and tree fern with warm to cool temperatures, moderate light and year round even watering. Repot this species every year in fresh media for healthy roots. These plants can be grown on a bright windowsill or under lights. Perfect companion to Phals as they have similar requirements. Highly recommended for the Paph species collector and lovers of miniature orchids.
