Description

This rarely available primary hybrid can be a slow grower but is very easy to grow and flower once it reaches mature size. It has many of the desirable characteristics of the parvisepalum species parents such as cold tolerance and compact growth habit. It has attractive mottled leaves with huge, 3-4 inch, long-lasting, bright yellow to greenish flowers with burgundy overtones (that can become more golden in color as the flower matures) on a long and sturdy inflorescence. The Paph. armeniacum influences the small size of the plant and yellow color of the flower. Some of the seedlings have inherited the fragrance from Paph. malipoense.

Paphs detest soggy growing medium; pot in well-draining media. Grow in intermediate to warm temperature, low to medium light, high humidity and good air circulation. Water as the mix approaches dryness. As with all Paphs, its roots are sensitive to salt buildup from excess fertilizer which causes leaf tips to turn brown. It is a good practice to flush the medium with fresh, clean water once a month and repot Paphs in fresh media every year. Very easy to grow and bloom. Perfect for growing on a windowsill or under lights. A must for every Paph orchid collection! Highly Recommended.
