When granted the highest American Orchid Society award for Cultural Excellence, this particular clone was showing off with 75 flowers and buds on four strong inflorescences from one growth ! The judges remarked that it was the blackest orchid they had ever seen, noting its black black-red sepals and petals and its heavy substance satiny flowers. For best flowering, grow under Cattleya conditions. This hybrid will yellow and drop its leaves at the end of the season, typical for the type. Reduce watering while leafless and resume normal watering and fertilizing at the onset of new growth in the spring. Very Highly Recommended !
