Den. schuetzei , NF1480
This is a cross of two outstanding clones of the species with enormous flowers for a dendrobium.
Dendrobium schuetzei is found on Mindanao Island of the Philippines at elevations around 984 feet (300 meters) as a small to medium sized epiphyte. It is a fantastic large-flowered species with well-rounded large flowers that are 3.75 to 4 inches in size. It has fragrant, long-lasting, snow-white flowers with a small green disk, tinged with purple on the lip that appear near the apex of the canes. A member of the formosae section of dendrobium, it has compact growth habit and the dark, shiny leaves have a nice structure. It is an easy grower and blooms from old and new canes in winter and fall. It thrives in intermediate to warm temperatures, year-round watering and fertilizing, dry slightly between watering, bright indirect light, high humidity, and good air circulation. It can be kept with Cattleya as it has similar requirements. Can be grown on a bright windowsill or under lights.
